Chat & Thread Rules

Our free Live Chat and the Thread work well because users follow the guidelines. Familiarize yourself with them before entering discussions.
Chat rooms and the Thread are for users to connect and discuss topics. Treat each other as you would in person. Bullying and hostility are not tolerated. Be patient with those who are new to online dating.

Private Chat Rooms

Upgraded users can create private rooms. Choose a respectful, welcoming name for your room, and interact with others as you would in person. Avoid creating rooms on behalf of other users.

Free users can join chat rooms, but can't create them.

Avoid Requests in the Chat & Thread

Avoid posting what you're looking for in the chat or forum. Use your profile, Date Ads, or the 'browse' feature to contact others directly.

Moderators

Trained moderators keep things safe and enforce guidelines in the Live Chat and the Thread.
If you experience issues with another user in the Live Chat, use the 'Call chat moderator’ tool. If no moderator is available, report the user so that Support can take action. The 'Block' feature is at your disposal to block the user and avoid escalating a situation.

As a general rule in the Thread, our mods try to keep duplicate threads to a minimum. If your topic has already been discussed multiple times, you will be notified.

All mod decisions are final. Disputes should be directed to Support, not discussed publicly (we remove and give warnings for off-topic posts).
